Limerick Celtics are Basketball Irelands Club of The Year.
In a ceremony yesterday Limerick Celtics were confirmed as Basketball Irelands Club of the year for the 2024-25 season.
This is no surprise as Limerick Celtics Men’s team with League and cup double bringing Super league Basketball back to Limerick, AJ Williams won player of the year and head coach Tony Hehir tabbed Coach of the year.
To add to this Michelle Aspells up and coming superstars won their 3rd consecutive All-Ireland division A Championships taking the AICC 16u girls.
Irish U16 Schoolgirls Player of the Year is Crescent Comprehensive College & Limerick Celtics Madelyn Hartigan
and
Irish U19 Schoolgirls Player of the Year Mungret Community College & Limerick Celtics player Meabh Purtill
The Women’s National league team reached the Division 1 League final.
The Men’s BIDL team took the National Championship.
A whole raft of underage boys and girls teams winning Divisional titles and Cork titles.
6 underage teams playing in Europe this summer.
3 players and Captain on Irelands 16u Girls team and a player on the 18u team also.
The Senior Wheelchair Basketball team pipped in a National Final.
A whole range of local schools taking National titles with celtics players on the rosters.
So no surprise that Limerick Celtics are Basketball Irelands Club of The Year.
