A great days basketball at the John Coughlan U15 Boys Tournament hosted by the Cork County Basketball Board in Parochial Hall, with Limerick Celtics the overall winners.

Celtics topped their Pool beating Fr. Matthews and St. Brendans to progress to the Quarter Finals against Eanna. Eanna had progressed as runners up of their pool which included pre tournament favourites Ballincollig(Pool Winners) and Mallow YC. Celtics played some brilliant team basketball beating Eanna and headed to a semi-final showdown with Corrib. Again the boys dug deep and put in an excellent defensive display to come out on top with a scoreline of 49 – 40 to set up a final showdown with St. Brendans who had recovered from their early defeat to Celtics in the pool games to beat Ballincollig and Blue Demons on their way to the final.

But it proved to be Celtics day as they put in a blistering final and proved too strong once again for St. Brendans and finishing on a scoreline of 50 – 18 which included a brilliant Jack Somers 3 pointer as the final score of the tournament.

Well done to Celtics U15 boys team on a great sucess in Cork
